The questions on the design of the new A-Class were posted by the Mercedes-Benz online community on Facebook and Google+.
Below we also report an older video, released on April 2011, where Mark Fetherston explains the main design elements of the Concept A-Class, where he was team leader for the exterior design.

Ths seems to large difference in production model wid concept model f A cls…why so..
Cncpt wz far better thn actul 1…
The design is great and all shapes, proportions and style is perfectly combined. What about story and history?
I’m not either design or car specialist, but I don’t get it. Initially, the W168 was a city family car, and Mercedes is more about comfort than sport (not talking about SLR etc., I’m talking comparing to BMW). The idea of A-Class was a car small outside big inside. Why do we need small hatchbacks or sedans at all? What’s wrong with micro-vans?
Let’s say BMW released Series-1 eight years ago, but that was initially oriented on fast riding. Well, BMW never produced vans and they never had B-Class, Series-1 looks a logical product.
Why would Mercedes change its concept about A-Klasse?
