Conceived as a competitor for sportscars such as the Nissan GTR and the Aston Martin One-77, the BMW M3i/320 Concept by Alexander Imnadze aims at rethinking the BMW Z and M series by adopting some of the design elements of the new BMW i sub brand.
At the same time the designer wanted to include the racing-like spirit of the iconic M3.
The result is a coupé that combines classic BMW proportions – long hood and set back cabin – with a number of trademark elements – including the Hofmeister kink – and the recent sculpted look, apparent in the hood and the surfacing of the rear shoulders.
The flanks are characterized by a S-shaped metal element that serves as a distinctive graphic element, visually extending the contours of the side windows.
