In 1970 SEAT entered the motorsports world establishing a racing formula for the Spanish circuits – the Formula Nacional, later called Fórmula 1430.
Young Spanish drivers had access to single-seater racing vehicles equipped with the engine of the Seat 1430 and a gearbox from the Seat 6700.
As designer Arturo Ariño from Designcube explains,“This vehicle is an Homage to the initiative that SEAT had 40 years ago, allowing Spanish Pilots and Industry to take a big step with the well known brands and racing.”
Like its predecessor, the concept has an essential yet modern design and a mid-engine layout.
“We were thinking to use the same engine as the Seat Leon Cupra R, a turbocharged 4-cylinder inline engine that can produce 265hp, [combined with] racing suspension, brakes and aerodynamic kit”
This could also allow the Formula 1430 Concept to compete against racetrack-oriented cars such as the Ariel Atom and KTM Xbow.
