The Maserati GT Garbin is a design study of a Gran Turismo model for the year 2020. The authors are Jaime Cervantes, Andrea Coccia, and Chetan Rajput, recently graduated from the Politecnico di Milano.

The Maserati GT “Garbin” was the project thesis of students Jaime Cervantes (Mexico), Andrea Coccia (Italy) and Chetan Rajput (India).

The main inspiration came from the strong lines of the Maserati Ghibli (1967-1973), even if the goal was to avoid making a rétro design.

Following the brand’s tradition, the GT “Garbin” is named after a south-westerly summer wind that occurs in Italy – also known as “Libeccio” or “Garbino”.

The surface language is inspired by the Privé 2010 Collection by Armani, a fashion design concept that uses discontinues shapes and overlay luminescent fabrics.

The exterior look is completed by the large doors that slide forwards and by luminescent materials and backlighting surfaces that “spice up” the overall design.

The same ideas were used to develop the interior, dominated by the surfaces that connect the door panels to the dashboard.
